Happy Birthday to you !

Well  over at http://toffchallenge.blogspot.co.uk it's Octopode challenge blog's first birthday and the challenge was to create a birthday card. I used steampunk Violet and had fun colouring her with my promarkers. I absolutely LOVE Lily's images and her new steampunk ladies are absolutely FAB ! I couldn.t wait to get started and thought it would be fun to have Violet jumping out of a cake so thats what I did!
I cut out a 3 tier cake card blank (A bit of a mouthful lol) and decorated it with Wild Rose Studio papers. I defined the cake tiers with peeloff lace and added a 'starburst' to the top where Violet is emerging from the cake.

A close-up of the lovely Violet.

I added 'Time to celebrate@ in my own writing and stamped 'happy birthday' 3 times across the bottom. I thought 'time to celebrate ' went well as Violet's hair is made up of lots of clock faces! Hope Lily likes her birthday card  :)

Girls just wanna have FUN !

Well there's a lot of girly stuff about at the mo but over on the Octopode challenge this week it's a girly theme with a difference!....... Lily's BRILLIANT images aren't your usual run of the mill girlz n I LOVE them!
I used Mod Alice to create this card and I thought that the sentiment fitted in well with the theme........ after all what's more fun for us girls than shopping for gorgeous shoes........... time well spent lol . She was coloured with a mix of pro markers and spectrum noir pens.  I enlarged the shoes and printed them out several times, creating a rainbow of shoes!
For the background I used distress inks and added subtle pattern with flourish stamps. I stamped the bright red flourish with brick distress inks so she wasn't 'floating' on the page. I used a fiskars punch on the right hand side of the page and used several rows of washi tape on the left side. I generated the sentiment in Word and printed it out before edging it with a promarker.  Hope you like it and the fact that it's not the usual girly girly image xx

It's a Girl Thing.

This card was made to enter into the weekly challenge over at I love promarkers - a card for a little girl. The image was a freebie in a recent issue of one of the card making magazines and as it was designed by Lili of the valley and they are sponsoring the challenge I thought it would be perfect.

I cut one edge off a square card and layered up various 'girly' papers from my stash, mostly from papermania. When all the layering was to my liking I rounded off the other 3 corners so the card stood up in a 'diamond' shape with the fold on the top left side. After colouring the image with my promarkers I cut it out and mounted it onto a doiley then onto the card, using stickey pads on both layers to add dimension..

It was finished off with various embellishments - a ribbon bow, adhesive stones and a butterfly from Debbi Moore and loads of stickles glitter glue!!!    I'm not sure where the sentiment is from..... I've had it ages lol. I added a final finishing touch, writing 'with love' several times next to the ribbon on the left. It's definately GIRLY !

Red, White, Blue 'n' Bling !!!

The challenge over @ Teddy Bo this week is very patriotic..... Red white 'n ' blue with plenty of added bling - love it! I had to make a card for my Aunty to congratulate her on her new job and thought a patriotic theme would be apt as she got her job jubilee weekend so I combined the 2.

As always teddy Bo 'n' Bea are adorable - I just love to colour them with my promarkers. The background and sentiment was created in my trusty serif software and I finished it all off by adding lots of silver and white stickles and some adhesive stones. I also added a shadow under the bears so they weren't 'floating' although it hasn't showed up well on the pic and it does look a little like they are, indeed, floating :(

A closer pic of my adorable bears. I think in hindsight it would have been better if I had moved the sentiment to the top of the right side and made Bo and Bea bigger............ but we live and learn   :)  xx

Pearls at Kenny K's !

The challenge at Kenny K's this week is 'Pearls'. I came up with the sentiment myself and created the layered background in craft artist software. I really love this software and it's sooo easy to use.... I like to practice as often as poss and find new things everytime I use it!

Maybe it's just me but whenever I think of pearls it always reminds me of the phrase 'twinset n pearls' and Raven from Kenny K is about as far from that image as it's possible to get! She's sooo sexy and fun. I coloured her with my promarkers and added touches of foiling to add a bit of sparkle.

I added her to the background card and finished the whole thing off with some adhesive pearls in various sizes. Like the 'fun factor' of this card..... just my style lol!

The Kenny K DT call

As you all know I love using the Kenny K digistamps and often join the weekly challenges. The images are soooo sexy and fun so imagine my excitement when I recieved the news that they're looking for new DT members!
I've put together a little collection of past and present projects using Kenny K digistamps for my application sooooo...... here goes. Wish me luck!

My newest creation which I made for this week's challenge - Pearls. I used Raven who I particularly like as she's such good fun!

A  project which I tried paper piecing on.....pleased with the result!

I've used Dyan Reavley's downloads for the sentiment on these 2 cards which I think go together really well.

Another paper-piecing card. Well I'd best stop now..... Fingers crossed xx

I'm Back !!!

I haven't been able to work on my blog for ages. In my defence there's been a lot going on! I've been really busy making samples for Debbi Moore and also..... the most exciting bit of news.... my daughter announced she is expecting a baby! It will be my first grandchild and I'm sooooo excited! The baby's not due until the beginning of November but I've been really busy crocheting baby clothes.

As I was browsing the blogs I follow I had an urge to do some challenges so.... here goes.
I made this card for the I love promarkers challenge #119 which had to incorporate a digi stamp.
I used "hot Fuzz" from Kenny K. The image was coloured using my promarkers and the background was created using my serif craft artist software which I LOVE! I used the saying " sugar and spice and all things nice" which was repeated and faded into the background and the sentiment was also computer generated.... the real things little girls are made of !! lol.

A close up of Hotfuzz. Really love this image and had such fun colouring her in.
I finished the card by adding highlights with foils and adhesive stones. The overall look seemed to fit in well with the colours used on the uniform.... not at all the usual pallette I would use .
